Every good home, place, or person I have ever had the pleasure to visit, be next to, enjoy, holds an atmospheric presence that operates from wholesome shape, certainty, background. I refuse to believe that the most magnificently untouched locations on earth sit with a stagnancy of envy for its opposite, or a comparison of some other lovely climate of which it cannot see, or operate like. We think we are so much better than — advanced, savvy, intuitive, with the material forms of statuses or capabilities we have learned so well to think we need. But really, what sits cherishingly in its natural glory without idea of “what else,” is the most powerful energy of all. And leaves behind an alluring invitation of self-reflection that anyone is welcome to indulge in.
Imagine if we treated negativity like currency — is this thought or person worth the toll to pass through? Would it be easy or difficult to physically pay real money to this upset? Are you willing to take from your earnings to place in that pocket?
Lately -
Thrilled with this home phone for the kids. Watching them learn to dial phone numbers, one digit at a time, was a bit breathtaking… sometimes they can’t do it rhythmically enough and the dial tone cuts them off. The instantaneousness our children have been swallowed by, observing a “tap” for result, payment, response, dopamine, is worth serious contemplation. They wait for nothing.
Set up is friendly, quick, and the approved contact list feels much less invasive than a regular landline. I ordered this in November of 2025, and it arrived late Feb. They ship in batches!

Food -
Three ingredient Spring & Mulberry chocolate, date, and potato chip candies - simple like their chocolate bars, sweetened only with dates. Innocently indulgent, and velvety smooth when melted for any baking or dunking. Their new Sea Salt flavor is beautifully packaged (as always), and completely perfect for gifting or devouring.
Over low heat, melt 1-2 Spring & Mulberry sea salt chocolate bars. Pit 12 - 15 medjool dates, and let soak in boiling water for ten minutes until softened. Mash them in a bowl and crush in a sturdy high quality potato chip. Scoop and dunk them into your chocolate. Refrigerate for thirty minutes, or until chocolate is hardened. Remove and drizzle with more chocolate, and sprinkle with crushed potato chips.
Sandwich from Box Hill Grocer. Cook in butter and a bit of olive oil. Press down to grill (I used a heavy rock over parchment). Flip. In the same hot pan, fry an egg and top your sandwich with a bit of freshly cracked pepper.
Mix two cups almond flour packed, 1/2 c maple syrup, 1 egg, pinch salt, 2 tablesp cacao powder, and 1 teasp peppermint extract. Scoop into mounds and bake in a 350 degree oven until tops are toasted. Anywhere from 15-25 minutes depending on your oven. Please add the peppermint in increments of 1/4 teasp so it’s just the right amount of mint for you!
Melt a high quality chocolate bar, or semi sweet chocolate chips over low heat in a small sauce pan… I also added a splash of peppermint extract to the chocolate. Mix.
Spoon onto the mounds and top with nice salt.
It’s a fake thin mint, and delicious dunked in milk. Enjoy!
Best responses lately that have made a great difference for us —
“What do you think?”
“You can’t help how you feel, but you are in control of your words and actions.”
“Are you setting a good example right now?”
“Whether that’s true or not, we won’t be repeating it.”
“We tell the truth to each other! And honesty keeps us safe.”
“I want to hear you clearly. Try again with a calm voice.”
“Who are you speaking to? And how do you speak to them?”
“I love that you did that start to finish.”
“Do it safely!”
“When we put things off, they can take longer.”
“The answer that I’m giving you will have to be enough.”

On this page in, A Philosophy of Walking, a book I’m flying through, the paragraph reads: To walk without even the necessary is to abandon yourself to the elements. When you do that, nothing counts any more, plans, self-assurance, nothing. Nothing but a full and wholesale trust in the world’s generosity, which satisfies the heart, because it makes us totally dependent on an Other, relieving us even of the duty of self-preservation. Stones, sky, earth, and trees— everything becomes a gift, an inexhaustible source of comfort. What we give ourselves up to is which we are given.”
