Pasta with asparagus, cooked lemon, herbs, pistachios.

Always on the kitchen island -

Paper towel holder, salt dish, pepper grinder, cinnamon, room temperature butter, block cutting board. What we reach for most at every meal, a perfect collection.

Dollar store gold -

I think we have been three weeks now without video games… I have spurts of allowing their Nintendo, and then getting so fed up with the fighting and attitude (when it’s time to put the drug away), that we end up forgetting, doing other things, and going long periods of time without it. Which I prefer. Sometimes in the car if we go to the city I allow the device, but it’s never worth it, even for that. I do not allow YouTube or YouTube Kids at all. It’s garbage and Isaac can spell. I also know they are / have been exposed to explicit content in their other biological parent’s care… so I will protect them from that when they’re with me… even if they hate me for it, now.

Last week on Grandparent’s day at school, Isaac and Maddox picked out journals at the book fair, my mother’s treat. And so, it inspired me to make sure they had proper supplies. I went to the dollar store and bought three pencil pouches (a different color
